Email Results

I am not getting all my results. I can see them on the question writer server but I am not getting them in my email.

Only some results are coming through

this issue started today.

We did have an issue with the main results server for about 30 minutes today at around 5:30 GMT - during this time the server was unreachable and result sets were received and stored by the backup server. They were transferred onto the main server over next two hours so this might expalin some delays on some of the e-mails today.

I am also not receiving e-mailed results. I used the software for the first time yesterday (other than tinkering to get familiar with it a week or two ago). I tested one of my quizzes several times. I received an e-mail the first time, but none of the several other times. I found this entry in the forum and looked online, my results were there. I've waited a day and still have not received any results in my inbox. I've tried another quiz today and still do not get the results by e-mail.

I'm not aware of any problems with the server at the current moment - there's a detailed set of checks you can do to see if you have everything set up correctly here -

Thanks for replying Alexander. I've checked my settings, but things are the same. I changed the e-mail for the results to be sent to, and that worked. I think it's my company's e-mail server that is blocking the results before I have a chance to get them. I've contacted our IT department about it.

I have been trialing the program and am thinking about buying it but am very concerned about the problems getting emailed results.

Is there anyway way they can be mailed out via our own (or another) server?

Yes you can send the results to any server as long as you input the address in the quiz set up.


If you choose to send results to your own server, you may need a programmer to create a script to process the results (or you can do it yourself depending on your expertise).

Be sure to also put in the address of a back up server - just in case!

By the way I love the ease of use with yoru program and this assistaxcne is fantastic. So I am forwarding your link to a compnay that builds educaiton data bases in teh hope that we can get QW3 results fed into it

I figured out what my problem was. It was actually my falut. When you register to view results online, one choice you have is to check a box that reads "Subscribe To Mailer". I thought this was for some e-mail newsletter like many companies send for marketing. I un-checked that box and it prevented me from receiving results to my inbox.

Sorry if I made it look like there was a continuing problem with Question Writer. So far that's the only glitch I've had, and it was my doing all along.
