Image Zoom

The image zoom in QW is exactly what I need for some medical related testing. Details matter so seeing a large image is required.

I am curious. Does QW do anything to process the images or are they simply attached 'as is' and resized on the fly? Some of these medical images are huge and I don't want to bloat the overall fill size of the quiz.

If they go in 'as is' I'll pre-process them.

All in all this is a great design feature.

Hallo MichaelF

you can adjust the quality of the image zooming, see : [en.wikibooks.org]

but Question Writer 3 does not process the images - you would have to do that before loading them

Hi Michael,

The bitmap images (.gif) files are included 'as is' with no further compression - the lossy images (.jpeg) have compression applied according to the setting in image quality
[en.wikibooks.org]

To avoid bloat - you can pre-process them or experiment with this setting to reduce the file size.

For best quality though - use .swf(Flash) files made from vector elements. These are re-processed but quality isn't affected.
