FAQ: Not Receiving E-mail Results

Your test needs to be placed on-line (on the internet or intranet), and accessed through the webpage(index.html) for results to be sent by e-mail.

Here's a number of steps to check if you're not receiving your results by e-mail.

1. Click on the green quiz icon to see the quiz properties.

2. Choose 'Web Settings' from the menu on the left hand side

3. Ensure 'Send Results Via Website To E-mail(Best Effort Service)' is ticked and your e-mail is in the box.

4. Close the settings box and choose 'Publish for the Web' from the Publish menu.

5. Upload all the files created onto your website. (index.html, quizname.swf, writeFlash.js)

6. Access the index.html file over the internet

7. Check your e-mail.


If you get the error - "The sendURL variable was empty - there was nowhere to send your responses. Your responses have not been saved." - this is usually because you've accessed the quiz inside the preview window, or directly viewed the .swf file. You must go through the index.html file to send results by e-mail.

If you get a security warning or error, this is usually because you've accessed the quiz directly from the hard-disk - the security manager usually won't let Flash send results directly from the hard disk.
