Some quiz results of the same quiz donīt arrive!!! Hello!
I have a very particular problem here. I am using QuestionWriter for exams at the school I am working for, but I noticed that some results simply donīt arrive. I use an email address from my web domain, no hotmail or something like that, also the question writer tracker. I already checked the emails spam folder, without results. I used version 3.1 yesterday, but i changed immediately to 3.4 due to this error, but the error continues. Tha last time I used this programm in Febryary/March of this year, this error simply didnīt occur. I really need all result to arrive, as I work in an engineer carreer and maybe Iīll have to present the results to students or other teachers. Anyone with an idea? Best regards, Roger Roger Hi Roger,
I can see some difficulties with resultsets that are being submitted for your e-mail address. I don't know why these might be occuring (as I'm only seeing these errors for your e-mail address, and I have seen a few) but I'll share the details I have and maybe we can work out what is going wrong. QW Quizzes send the results as an XML document at the end of a test. XML documents have a very particular format and if they are modified they can no longer be processed. When your quizzes are sent to our backup server, they have additional text inside them which breaks the format and the results can't be processed. This text is as follows - "Proxy-Connection: keep-alive Cache-Control: max-age=0 3" I suspect something on your network (or proxy) is inserting this extra information causing the problem. Changing your proxy server might help here. It also only seems to happen when the results are sent via our backup server - so you could try setting the backup server setting to use the main server settings instead, [en.wikibooks.org] (Select 'Use a Custom Results Backup Server' and enter the main server URL (http://www.quiz-software.com/results/resultsqw3.php?email=) here instead) Alexander McCabe Hi Roger,
I've updated the backup server today and this should help with the problem you were seeing. With the update, if a quiz sends a corrupted set of results, the backup server will reject them. This will cause the quiz to attempt to resend them until the server receives an uncorrupted result set. This should ensure this problem doesn't happen again, even with an unreliable proxy or connection.
