change account name/email If we have uploaded a lot of content to a particular account name/email address would it be difficult to create a new account and transfer everything or would we have to do it manually and upload each quiz again 1 by 1 ?
This is related to other questions regarding sending results to multiple email addresses. The current email/account holder said he will be going on holiday for a period and wanted to change the settings so someone else was notified of the new quiz results while he was away. He asked me to make the change for him… which I cannot do. Currently he would have to do this through his own outlook account rather then through any functionality of QW -Tracker. I know in past forum questions you have suggested setting up a generic Gmail account to manage this type of request, but I think if you are going to succeed in your quest to create the industry standard application for test and assessment authoring. ("Question Writer will become the Microsoft Word or the Adobe Photoshop of test authoring.") you may need to consider some changes to accommodate more flexibility within your native software rather then instructing users to use proprietary solutions. Cheers adam Hi Adam. I'll add 'Chaning the email address' on the account as a feature request. Until we've had a chance to implement this please have the current e-mail account holder send the request to support@questionwriter.com
Generally I agree we need to add more features and I hope you notice that this is exactly what we've been doing! Alexander McCabe Yes I have notticed.... I agree with Alan Merrell, of Jackson Hole High, Wyoming, when he said: that you respond so "well" and so "fast" to your support forum questions and comments. And that also flows on to your prompt responce to bug fixes and enhancements. I am very happy with our purchase and would not hesitate to recomend the software and your service to others. adam I agree with Adam, I am stuck on how to get my gmail account to accomodate sending student's marks reports on to their instructor directly.
I presently just do a forward of the e-mail to the instructor, but I will be away soon and I want the marks to go directly to the instructor without delay and not have to wait for me to get back. I will be glad when QW upgrades to do this, but in the meantime how do I do it with gmail? Barrie Morgan Alexander McCabe I am having difficulty with applying the following rule. Whilst the 'account' is in my name [email] with a password, I want the results from a number of my quizzes to be returned to a different email address, which I have duly applied to the 'send results....' field in Web Settings of those particular quizzes. I've saved locally and uploaded to the server etc, yet seemingly , without fail, the return emails default back to my address, despite the fact that I inserted a different address. Although the new version has saved , uploaded and allowed a preview of the url etc, is there a time lag in force?
thanks john John Morray Hi John,
When you upload a quiz to Question Writer Tracker, it assumes that you want to override the email account with your QWT account and so all e-mails are then e-mailed to the address associated with the QWT account. I'll add as a feature request, a way to send results to a different e-mail from your QWT account. In the meantime, there are two ways you could address this - one would be to open a QWT using the other e-mail address and upload the quiz to this. The other would be to set up a mail filtering rule, so that e-mail results of a particular format are forwarded on to another address. Alexander McCabe Hi All
Thank you. Creating a rule has worked a treat. We use Outlook here, as a result [or should that be in spite in of? LOL] I created a rule in a matter of minutes that included 'source' and the 'quiz title' from the email body text as criteria. Hence particular results will now be redirected automatically to another team or client. Job done! John Morray |
