Any way to score correct non-responses?

Is there any way to give the test taker credit for not selecting a distractor in a multiple response question? For example, a question with five choices and 3 of them are correct, but I want to give them credit for knowing that the other two were not correct. In other words, the total number of points for the question would be 5 if they answered correctly.

Hello Linda.

I am not a forum administrator and I hope Alexander does not mind me responding to your question before he does. I am doing so just because I happen to do this a lot in my own quizzes.

Here is the way I do it:

1st - Add a Partial Credit Question;

2nd - In the properties window write the question body and the options text;

3rd - Regarding the points to each option you must do something like this:

Option A = -1
Option B = 1.5
Option C = 1.5
Option D = -1
Option E = 2

This means if the test taker selects options B, C and E he will get 5 points (1.5+1.5+2). If the test taker selects options A, D and E he will get 0 points (-1-1+2). If the test taker selects options B, D an E he will get 1.5 points… And so on!

4th - Do not forget to change the maximum number of options that may be selected box to the number of options available. If there are 5 options this number should be 5, if there are 4 options this number should be 4… and so on!
