QW and China firewall

This may be of interest to some of your members who have had their websites blocked by the "Great Firewall of China".
I have QW exams linked on my websites that I develop for students in post-secondary education.
However, my students in China could not access the website because of the firewall that was blocking my website software, and thefore the QW exam was blocked also.
I e-mailed the student with a link to the QWT exam and she has successfully completed it, the countdown clock and opening date worked fine.
The publisher also gave me URL access to their textbook with password protection, and the student was able to open that also.
I am now developing a Microsoft Word based course with the QW links built in to bypass the firewall. So where there is a will, there is a way.

Barrie, thanks for the feedback on your experiences with access from China. Sounds like QWT is not on the China firewall list. At least not yet!

A good new development on the China firewall I reported last year.
My course websites are no longer blocked and clients in China have now accessed them including the built in QW tests.
In addition, the textbooks supporting the courses are also available online from the publisher's consortiums, with huge price reductions versus the print-based formats, and their website links are open too.
