How can I type superscript in question writer?

You can use superscript by adding the html tab ^{before the text you wish to appear in supescript and} after it. You also have to tick the "use HTML to Format Text" tick box that you will find in text settings (or appearance settings if you are using the Standard version) in the Quiz Properties.
