Professional License Upgrade

Hi Alexander,

I just recieved the new license for professional 4 academic version. I cannot open the file. I have the 4th edition in the basic mode but when I open it there is no place to upgrade or to enter a new license. When I open the license file it whats me to go to the internet to get an extension software to open it. Help

Hi Troy,

The license file is about 10K in size with a '.license' extension. Save this file to your Question Writer program folder. It will have a name like
"C:/Program Files/Question Writer 4/

When you start the application, you may need to choose the 'Version' menu and choose the version of the software you wish to use (Professional or Standard)

I get that, but when I save it it is in a different format, like notepad. Could you please resend it?

Thanks Troy

I'll resend it to you - but this time zipped up - you'll need to unzip it.

Hallo Troy

There is no way from the Question Writer interface to password protect a published quiz. If you are publishing the quiz on your website you may be able to set up a password system there.

If you publish your quiz on Question Writer you can restrict access in various ways, for example by issuing single use tokens only to the specific people who are permitted to access. You can read some more about that here: [en.wikibooks.org]

Please let me know if you have any more questions

Yes - usually the Tokens on Question Writer Tracker are the best way to handle this - they act as one-time passwords.

Another possible solution is to use a plugin question type, which checks for a password and doesn't let the user continue until the password is entered.
