Results Greetings!
I am currently evaluating your Question Writer 4 free version in order to decide if this is a product that will meet my needs. I have two questions: 1. I am unable to send the results to my e-mail. I keep getting an error message that states: Problem sending results. Will continue trying indefinitely. Please check the internet connection and the availabilty of the server. Attempt 4 Sending results to http://www.xquestion.com/results/resultsqw3.php?email=jbuckingham@norcom.org&r=46277 Failure Error Code: 0 I know I am connected to the internet, so any suggestions? 2. When results are sent, is it possible to receive the question and the answer given? I need to keep hard copies copies of all tests in the employees files, so I need to have what questions they asked and what they answered in addition to what they scored. Thanks so much for your help!! Julie Hallo Julie
Thank you for your interest in Question Writer. The error message that you are getting is definitely an indication of some problem with your internet connection. Question Writer will keep trying to send if you let it run. If you are certain that there are no problems with your internet connection perhaps your firewall is preventing the emails being sent? In Question Writer Tracker you can produce a report showing the answers given to each question. You can also download all results for a quiz to an .csv file for further analyis in MS excel. However unless you enter a Question Title in the question metadata, Question Writer Tracker will assign a identification number to each question. This is maybe not so helpful for you but is a more efficient use of space (both physical and data storage). You can print out a copy of the quiz to go with each result set. There is more information about Question Writer Tracker and the results service in our online manual: [en.wikibooks.org] I hope this answer is useful for you, but please let us know if you need any more information. Hazel Skeet Hi Hazel,
I also would like the actual answers to be shown on the email as this email is what we use to send to our teachers. So they can see exactly what the client has answered. Also how do I get the csv file to align properly in an excel file. At the moment for me it is just one big mess and therefore useless. Thanks, Mark Mark Matthews Hallo Mark
I will add your request for more detail on the answers given to our feature request list. We refer to this list as we make improvements to the software and try to incorporate our users' suggestions, though I cannot promise when or if any particular feature requested might make it into a new version. We do try to let our users know when a feature that they have requested is implemented but you can also keep up to date with upgrades and new features by subscribing to our blog: [www.questionwriterblog.com] With regard to the csv file, I hope I have understood your request. There are many online sources on how to handle the import of .csv files into Excel and one of them may help you. Here are a few links: [office.microsoft.com] [www.brighthub.com] [www.howtogeek.com] I hope this helps you, but if you need any further information about Question Writer please don't hesitate to contact us again. Also, please let us know if you have any more suggestions or questions about Question Writer. Hazel Skeet i am currently evaluating QUESTION WRITER to see if it will work for our us.

Scotty Hallo Scotty
To answer your questions: 1. In Question Writer tracker you can view all results for each quiz and download them to a .csv file. This will allow you to produce an average for each quiz and sort by question and score. You can also view results by Question in the Question Response Chart. You can read a bit more about Question Writer Tracker results here: [en.wikibooks.org] 2. Using the Professional version, you can define each question according to a scoring group and then give feedback on how each candidate performed in each group. This is explained in detail in our online manual: [en.wikibooks.org] 3. I have relayed your request for an extension to the trial period.... 4. All licenses can be purchased online from our website. There are a range of payment methods available, including credit card and wire transfer. Hazel Skeet |
