Visible Timer

I have created a test that only allows students 45 minutes to complete it. I was hoping that this would prompt the program to display a timer so that the student knew how much more time they had left, but that did not happen. Is this a feature that I need to turn on (but am obviously missing), or can it be added to the wish list for future upgrades?

Thanks!

Hallo Julie

When you set a time limit on a quiz in Quiz Properties - Quiz Details, a timer automatically appears at the bottom of each page between the back and next arrow.

I am not sure why you are not seeing it. Perhaps you could send your .qwz file to us so we can have a look at it.

I tried uploading my quiz, but it says I need to have QW 3.4. I am currently using the free trial of version 4.

Hallo Julie

can you give me a bit more detail about where you were uploading the quiz, a screenshot of the error message and if possible the steps you took so I can duplicate the error.

Thanks

Hi Julie,

QW 3.4 means Question Writer 3.4 or better - so Question Writer 4 will work fine for you - you need to select the 'Publish to Question Writer Tracker' option in the software.

The timer should be displayed on screen when you opt to have a quiz with a time limit - although it might be a problem with one particular theme - which theme are you using?

Got it uploaded! The title of the test is "untitled" because it is just a demo, if you want to look at it. I am using the vacation theme with the cruise ship. Still not seeing the time.

Hi Julie,

Can you send through the .qwz file to support@questionwriter.com - we'll take a look at it for you and see what the problem is.
