FAQ: When will feature XYZ be added. Generally, I won't give exact guidance on what's likely to be added to Question Writer next or when. Partly this is for competitive reasons, but also, adding some features can be more difficult or time consuming than I expected and I don't want to mislead.
What I'll try to do is say 'No' where a feature definitely won't be added, or 'That's a good idea' where it's a feature that I'd like to add, or 'That would be easy to add' where it's a feature that might be added quickly. Usually, I'll treat these kind of questions as feature requests - and you should make those where you want a feature, even if it has been requested before - the more requests for a feature I get, the higher its priority gets. Alexander McCabe I would like to see embeded URL forwarding...
At the end of the quiz, program should take the user to my web site who is the owner of the .swf file... (Optional) I catch so many sites directly link to my .swf file (bandwith problem too) and i cannot do anything to stop them... Right now The url forwarding is in the html pages but those thives are linking to .swf file... If anyone know how to stop those thives, or any suggestion welcome... Thanks media Thanks for this. The URL for the forward URL is currently passed to the flash quiz by the HTML page as a parameter. It would be better to have this also embedded in the Flash file.
Something else you might want to look into is 'Hotlink Protection' . . this is a server side way to prevent other websites linking directly to your files. Alexander McCabe For us math teacher, it would be great to provide MathXL rendering via some sort of embedded tag in all question types. I know good MathXL rendering is a challenge, but there are some good LGPL or BSD license library tools out there that could be utilized. scotru Rendering equations would be a nice feature . . . I'm not sure MathXML would be the language we'd use yet (there's other possibilities out there) . . . but as you say, it's a challenge. In the meantime, do check out the Number Theory sample quiz - you'll see it is already possible to render a lot of math and chemistry using special symbols and HTML formatting. Alexander McCabe Is it, or will it be, possible to send the quiz results to a script on a server so that the results could be stored in a local database? We are looking for quiz software where we can take the results and do whatever we need to with them, whether that is store the results or email them to one or more different people.
We also have a seperate login page on our website, is there anyway we could pass the username used there to the quiz? Which would avoid having them login twice. Brian Vicary Hi Brian,
You can use the Quiz's Web Settings to define a custom results server. The quiz will then send the results to the URL you specify. They will arrive as an XML document. You could also write the user name dynamically into that URL to send the user name along with the results to your script. Alexander McCabe |
