The iPad is no doubt the number one tablet in the market- well, at least for now, which is why it’s not surprising that aside from it being an entertainment center, it’s also being considered as an educational tool.

Yes, there are a lot of educational apps that are great for toddlers and kids, but half-way around the world in a Shanghai school, the iPad is being considered as a digital blackboard.

In a pilot class of 24, all kids will be staring at an iPad instead of a blackboard. And for parents who worry about their kids playing games during lectures, the school plans to install a program to prevent students from downloading such distractions.

It’s an interesting experiment actually, but I think the iPad can’t replace the real black/whiteboard, chalk dust/marker and all.  What do you think?
