Which Side Are You On? E-Learning or Traditional Learning?

There is a plethora of e-learning tools out there available to us. With that said, it’s no surprise that there are those who pit e-learning with the more traditional classroom-based learning. It’s a very interesting debate. And if you want in on it, take can read: The Pros and Cons of E-learning & Education Technology. Here are the highlights of the article.

E-learning Pros: engages young minds, allows more people to access more information via the internet, and shares information with other cultures.

E-learning Cons: decreases use of traditional teaching methods, excludes people who are not technology-savvy, costly electronics, exposes people to dangers of internet use and the absence of meaningful relationships between teachers and students.

However as for me, it’s a debate I’d rather not get into. Why? It’s because I don’t want to pit these two educational tools together for the simple reason that they can be maximized to supplement each other, when possible. But that’s just me.

What about you, what do you think of this e-learning vs traditional learning debate?
