This service ensures that your quizzes are delivered over SSL (Secure Socket Layer) using a secure, encrypted ‘https://’ web address. The users’ responses and scores are also be sent back using the same secure communication channel.
Not all quizzes necessarily require a secure communication channel. A quick quiz on your website about the state capitals probably doesn’t. But where you’re testing students that are known to you, where the grades or responses might be sensitive information, or where any kind of personal data is collected – you have a responsibility (and maybe a legal obligation) to ensure this information is only transmitted over a secure connection.
